The future of Elayne Trakand and Andor
- ELAYNE AS BAIT:
- [Vol.2] Min views Elayne with a severed hand, a red iron, and an
axe. Might these visions have something to do Daved Hanlon,
aka Doilin Mellar, the Captain of Elayne's Body Guard?
- [Vol.8] Daved Hanlon was ordered by the Lady Shaine (an
elite Darkfriend) to capture and rape a queen. Darkfriend
plotting has put him in a trusted position next to Elayne, who will soon
be crowned Queen of Andor.
- [Vol.9] Elayne is allowing the public to believe that "Mellar" is
the father of her and Rand's unborn twins.
- [Vol.10] It seems Lady Shaine has suddenly changed her mind about
"Mellar," and may have attempted to have him killed. This indicates
a change in leadership, possibly caused by Moridin and Shaidar Haran.
"Mellar" has survived the attempt on his life, and may receive aid from
Black Ajah Falion Bhoda, who is currently a resentful servant to Lady Shaine.
- ARMIES MARCHING THROUGH ANDOR:
- [Vol.9] The four Borderland monarchs know that Elayne was
at the battle of Falme with Rand. This news must have come
from the sniffer Hurin. Elayne misled the Borderlanders by
telling them that Rand is in Murandy, hoping that their armies
will hinder her perceived challengers to the throne:
Arathelle, Pelivar, Luan, and Aemlyn.
Queen Tenobia wants to visit her uncle, Davram Bashere, so
the Borderlanders are due to stop in Caemlyn.
- [Vol.9] Elayne received emergency information from
her advisor, Norry, that four allied armies are marching
to Caemlyn from the east, and will arrive in a week.
- [Vol.10] The vapid and stupid Arymilla has laid seige to Caemlyn,
supported by noblewomen Elenia and Naean, and a crazy womanizing nobleman
named Nasin. The only support Elayne has gathered comes
from children Lords and Ladies.
Birgitte, Gaidal Cain, and Olver
- [Vol.4] Birgitte fought alongside Lews Therin, so she must know
a heck of a lot about the Age of Legends. Now her past lives
have faded from her memory. Why didn't she give Rand helpful
information against the Forsaken while she still has the opportunity?
- [Vol.4] Going by the hint of his ugliness, Olver might be the
reincarnation of Gaidal Cain, Birgitte's lover. But Gaidal Cain
was among the Heroes at Falme, and Olver must have been born by that time.
- [Vol.4] Moghedien promised Birgitte that she would strike Gaidal
Cain from the Wheel. If Olver is Cain, he might be in danger
from Moghedien.
- [Vol.5, p.272 pb]Birgitte tells Nynaeve about tel'aran'rhiod: "The
flow of time here can shift in larger ways, too. It might be months before I am born again, or days. Here,
for me. In the waking world it could be years yet before my birth." This time weirdness
supports the theory that Olver is Gaidal Cain reborn.
The future of Egwene Al'Vere and Gawyn Trakand
- EGWENE'S HEADACHES AND HALIMA:
- [Vol.6] Egwene first suffered a headache when Lanfear attacked her.
Her headaches are worse after she wakes from tel'aran'rhiod, so the headaches may be
connected with dreamwalking.
- [Vol.7, p.312 pb] Egwene's worst headaches began when Logain
escaped . . . and Halima arrived.
- [Vol.8, p.308 hc] Egwene wakes up from dreams similar to those that Morgase suffered while she
was under Rahvin's Compulsion. This implies that Halima (aka Aran'gar, aka Balthamel) is using
Compulsion on Egwene. But Halima is taking a risk, using saidin on a friend of Rand's.
Rand would detect it.
- [Vol.8] Halima sleeps in Egwene's tent and assauges Egwene's
headaches with massages. Egwene no longer allows her other maids, even Chesa, to sleep
in her tent, although most people in the camp claim that Halima
is a beastly woman who hurts people. Egwene is easily distracted and hardly
seems to notice when her Keeper Sheriam has a nervous breakdown and begins
shivering and crying during a Hall meeting. This is all further indication of Compulsion.
- EGWENE'S UPCOMING DEATH SENTENCE IN TAR VALON:
- [Vol.4] Min views that Gawyn will either kneel before Egwene,
or chop her head off. This must be a choice that Gawyn will
have to make between his love for Egwene, and his duty to fight
the rebel Aes Sedai whom she leads, and his hatred for her friend the
Dragon Reborn, whom he believes murdered his mother and ruined his country.
- [Vol.7, p.250 pb] Egwene dreams that she is about to be
beheaded as Amyrlin, and someone is running to stop it from happening.
- [Vol.7] Elaida has a Foretelling that the Dragon Reborn will "know the
Amyrlin's anger." It seems that Egwene, as the future Amrylin,
will be angry at Rand for a future blunder; perhaps for the Black Tower
bonding of Aes Sedai.
- [Vol.8] When Egwene went through a Tower test earlier in the series,
she saw herself as the Amyrlin, with Beldeine as her Keeper.
Beldeine is a newly raised Green Ajah who was loyal to Elaida and Galina,
but has since been manipulated by Verin into swearing fealty to Rand.
- [Vol.10] Egwene is trapped inside her own seige. Of course, with the
Seanchan approaching and Traveling involved, Egwene's siege is likely to fail anyhow.
- [Vol.10] The Aes Sedai that captured Egwene expected Bode and Leane instead, so
they knew Egwene's plan. Egwene was betrayed by someone in her camp.
Candidates include the Delana-Halima-Sheriam gang, Lelaine's posse, Romanda's posse, or
the runaway novice Nicola.
- [Vol.10] We can expect that Halima's treatment of Egwene (and her probably Compulsion)
will wear off unless Egwene is in the custody of the Black Ajah.
- SEANCHAN AND OTHER TROUBLES IN EGWENE'S FUTURE:
- [Vol.2] Due to the fact that Egwene was once a damane, she hates the Seanchan and will most likely
have to confront that hatred in order to grow.
- [Vol.3] In tel'aran'rhiod, Egwene met an ugly, helpful
old hag named Silvie in the Stone of Tear.
Who is Silvie? Why has she not been mentioned since? Web theories
suggest that she was Lanfear dreamwalking, but what exactly was she up to?
- [Vol.5] Min views troubling auras around the new novices Areina
and Nicola. This is probably a reference to the blackmail threat
they present to Egwene, when they mention that they overheard Thom and
Juilin talking about how Egwene, Nynaeve, and Elayne falsely claimed to be
Aes Sedai while they were still novices and Accepted.
- [Vol.5, p.446 pb] Min views "rays of silver and blue"
flashing around Sheriam's head, and "a soft golden light."
This indicates that Sheriam is a puppet of the Black Ajah against her will. Yet if Egwene's vision of
Beldeine was true, then Sheriam will no longer be Egwene's Keeper. Maybe she'll redeem herself by
helping Egwene in some fashion.
- [Vol.5, p.447 pb] Min views a tattoo of a raven floating near Carlinya, White Ajah.
This is a strong indication that Carlinya--one of Egwene's Hall members--will be involved with a
Seanchan Seeker soon.
- [Vol.6, p.651 pb] Egwene has toh toward Rhuarc and many other
Aiel because she lied about being an Aes Sedai. This debt is still
unmet! Will she fulfill it once she sits as the White Tower Amyrlin?
- [Vol.7, p.250 pb] Egwene dreams that she is trying unsuccessfully
to tear down a wall of cuendillar Seals. These may represent Rand's
growing armor of emotionless inhumanity.
- [Vol.7, p.250 pb] Egwene dreams of being tied together with a
golden female hawk. This must mean that she'll be tied with
Berelain in some way.
- [Vol.10] Egwene dreams that she is about to fall off a cliff, and is
rescued by a Seanchan woman who carries a sword. This might end
up being Egeanin.
- [Vol.10] Egwene has two prophetic dreams, in quick succession, that
the Seanchan will invade the White Tower in Tar Valon. This may
be accomplished if Suroth and Anath leash Rand with the male a'dam.
Logain, Mazrim Taim, and the Black Tower
- [Vol.4] When questioned, Black Ajah Joiya claimed that the Dark One
plans to use Mazrim Taim as a tool against Rand. This was well
before the man showed up. Um, maybe someone should tell Rand about this.
- [Vol.6] The Dragon prophecies say that whoever draws out Callandor
again will follow Rand. Logain and Narishma are candidates.
- [Vol.7] Elaida has a Foretelling that "the Black Tower will be rent
in blood and fire." Possible threats to the Black Tower include a war
between the Asha'man factions, Seanchan damane, Cadsuane, the Forsaken . . . or
Rand himself, when he finds out that Taim is a Darkfriend.
- [Vol.7, p.250 pb] Egwene dreams of Logain climbing steps over a
false corpse of Rand, and laughing as the corpse breaks apart. Might
one of the Forsaken weave a Mask of Mirrors to fake the identity of Rand?
Or will Logain have to deal with one of Rand's schizoid personalities?
Does this have to do with Rand's "if you would live, you must die" prophecy?
- [Vol.7] Min views that Cadsuane is going to teach Rand and all the
Asha'man something they won't like. Might this have something to do
with the Warder-like bond they use to compel women with?
The sexy mystique of Galad
- [Vol.2] Min claims that Galad is mixed with Egwene's
future. Might they fight each other as Whitecloak general and Amrylin?
- [Vol.4] Rand's birth mother Shaiel/Tigraine left a previous
son behind in Caemlyn from her royal marriage with House Damodred.
Her ex-husband remarried to Queen Morgase. This first son
has got to be Galad. So Rand has a sexy half-brother.
- [Vol.6?] Min views that Berelain will fall for a "man in white."
Might this be a Whitecloak, such as Galad?
